What I wish I know before I was 15

1.     Life speeds up the older that you get.
2.     People change the older you get.
3.     At this point in your life you can't achieve great success, but you can seriously mess up your future.
4.     Happiness is a choice.
5.     High school is not the funniest part of my life.6.     The adults around me know a lot more than I think they do.7.     You are not special.8.     Your friends that you pick make up a lot of who you are.9.     Be nice to your family and give them a break once in a while.10.   Don't act like you are angry all the time.

11.   School gets a lot harder the older you get.
12.   You don't anyways know the people who you think you do.
13.   Your family means a lot more to you than you think.
14. How hard life was going to be.
15. To find out who your real friends were.

The Hunter

The mask was hot and slipped slightly on his head.  This equipment had not been made for him.  He had to move.  Staying still was a bad idea.  Instinctively He moved to the next place of cover along the east side.    He was just over six feet tall and he had tucked his brown hair into his helmet as much as he could.
He kept his gun close to his chest and listened.  I got one!  Move left!  Move up!  Cover me!  He felt invisible almost excited as slight movement in an abandoned van caught his eye.   He turned slightly and looked down the barrel of his gun and executed two precise shots through the van window: one to each eye.   He ran again.
Some old oil drums concealed his body from his pursuers.   Two shots to the head!  Move to the right!  Watch that side!  They were better trained than him.  They had years of hunting, stalking, and winning.  There was no time to be afraid. He got down on his stomach and peeked out from his hiding place.
Then he saw the flaw.  He had been forgotten.   There they were: the last two enemies.  They were laying down fire at his friend.  This was his moment!  He ran noiselessly and pointed the gun at the first man his body was painted with splotches of green.  Then he rounded the barrier and pointed at their leader.   “Freeze, dirt bag!”  It was all he could think of to say.  He collapsed and threw up his hands and with tearful laughter, he conceded, “I surrender.” The rest walked on to the field.  A young blonde man reached down his hand to the man on the ground and said, “Sorry Gunny, my best friend is awesome!”  He took off his helmet and said, “three out of five guys! I like this game!”  As the sun went down on a great day, he smiled and thought, “I am a beast; I can play paintball with Marines.”

The Show Goes On

The Show Goes On

I think the Song is trying to tell you to be yourself, to get your dreams high and remember where you came from. Meaning it does not matter if you are broke growing up or very well off you can do amazing things when you put your mind to it. Also that you don’t have to get people to like you by changing yourself, others should like you for you and not for whom you are not but by who you really are. I think that the artist composed this song to show that he made it big and he grew up most likely very poor or with not a lot to look forward to. You can have a bad childhood and still do great things in your life.

We Wear the Mask

"WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.
Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs? "

How does the poet use literary devices? Why might he/she use these devices?
I think the poet wrote this because he knows what it is like to hide something and have to act like there is nothing wrong with him. He also may have wrote this because he knows that people all the time are trying to cover something up by acting different then they normally do trying to act normal. The feelings that the poet is trying to convey is a sad feeling. I think he succeeded because it makes you think of all the times you have done it trying to hide their feelings from the world. In the Poem the poet used literary devices like, bleeding hearts and a mouth with myriad subtletics. He used these devices to symbolize the ultimate meaning of the poem, and feelings.

A Special Event

A special event that I can last think of was PSP Mao (Paintball sports promotions, Mid-Atlantic Open). I was watching the professional team battle it out on a three day long tourney that could be anyone’s win. During the event it was raining and pouring on the first day making it very different for anyone to win. In the beginning the team name “Damage” was unstoppable, they beat every team in the first two days no problem, even beating a team named “Dynasty” which was one of the best teams in the world ever.
Everyone had predicted that Damage would have won, but sadly they did not just missing the finals by one point. They had been eliminated by a new and upcoming team called “Houston Heat”, who went on to win the tournament for the first time this year beating a team called “infamous” who won the last two tournaments before this event. It was a very intense battle between the two teams but the dominate team won!
